Visit To Ananya Trust
We keep saying that I want to do something good for society, for kids, for poor people, and I also think same. Luckily, this week we are having "Community Involvement Week" in Adobe. And today, we went to Ananya Trust, Bangalore to meet staff and kids there.
Ananya trust, Bangalore is basically working for underprivileged children, who are either not capable to afford education or who are not able to go with the pace of mainline stream schools. Dr. Shashi, mentor of the trust, told us that the logic behind Ananya is "Let students grow with full freedom, without feeling/burden of competition and so called theories, academics, papers and examinations. These budding flowers should bloom on their own pace and should be equally treated."
Visit to Ananya Trust
I really felt good that I had a chance to visit the trust and met kids. All kids were so good to us, that we didn’t feel that they are underprivileged. They were good in communication, they were good in nature, so what if they might not go with the pace of main stream academics process? I strongly believe that this shouldn’t really make them as rejected and they also have right to live a normal life. I wish Ananya trust that they keep doing this great work of helping underprivileged children.
New Music Sensation – Mauli Davey
SaReGaMaPa2005 was one of the most successful musical competition in my opinion. I never thought that ZEE will repeat the same concept with new idea – something like world war. But they have come up with this unique idea. Now we’ll be enjoying new singers, new voices, new talents. In fact, I liked singers "Mussarrat Abbas" and "Waasi Afendi" from Pakistan also. But one voice, which touched my heart, in fact not only mine, almost everyone’s – and that voice is of Mauli Davey from Texas.
Mauli Davey used to sing in Texas for a band, and Bhappi Lehri found her from SaReGaMaPa auditions. And her very first performance in SaRaGaMaPa with "Maiyya Maiyya" has amazed everyone. I have listened this song for almost 50 times. She has sung superbly, the way she picked up the song, the way she gave Gujarati raagh "Vaaalidaaa", everything was just amazing. And in her first performance, she has made an impression that she may be the winner of this series. All the mentors were also impressed by her singing, that they gave her a standing applaud, and it was a real appreciation for her. Mauli ! Keep singing great and we are here to support you. Best of luck.
